Life is hard, getting to Therapy shouldn’t make your life harder!

Hi, I’m Laura.

As a neurodivergent Mom, Wife, and healerpreneur…I get lifestyles that need convenience!

For a lot of us, busy lifestyles make self-care hard…online therapy takes some of those constraints like drive time and child care, and eliminates them.

Why Start Online Therapy? Do you…

  • Have limited time: kids, a job, and a significant other but want to grow as a person?

  • Want to be able to use your lunch break instead of having to take time off work?

  • Don’t want to have to get a sitter to “do therapy”? You would rather have kiddos engaged in an activity while you do self-care?

  • Travel for work? Scheduling is a pain. It would be so much easier to be able to do it while traveling

  • Feel like it is too “people-ey” out there? You are an introvert, and therapy feels more comfortable with a little distance

  • Need Less of a time commitment who wants to fight traffic, why spend 2 hours with drive time, when you can do 1?

  • Want to be comfortable, take of your mask? You can sit in your pajamas…I don’t care!

  • Want something easier? You don’t need another reason!

If any of these sound like you, then Online Therapy is a great solution.

So how does online therapy work?

Well, pretty much the same way that in-person therapy does. Except, I will be talking to you on phone or via a HIPAA compliant video platform from the comfort of your home/office.

Or, any other place that you choose that is confidential. You have to be in the state of Florida…because “the man” says I can’t see you unless you live there :).

“All this sounds great, but I don’t really have a personal space…”

Introducing Walk and Talk Therapy Sessions!

Walk and talk therapy sessions offer an invigorating solution for those lacking private space.

Together, we engage via telephone, in therapeutic conversations while strolling outdoors, enjoying the freedom of nature.

This dynamic approach promotes positive dialogue, mindfulness, and empowerment, fostering mental well-being amidst the open air.

The bonus for many of my clients is the added exercise and movement to their sessions!

What can Virtual therapy help with?

Anxiety can feel overwhelming, paralyzing, and like you are spinning. You’re already busy with to-do lists, managing the kids, and trying to keep up with work. How are you supposed to find time to do counseling? I mean that is just another commitment to add to your anxiety. Online therapy is great for anxiety. It works with you on your schedule. And, from a place that you are comfortable with.  We combine traditional methods such as CBT, Gestalt, or exploring holistic options like we would if you were to see me in person. And you get similar results. Want more information? Check out my page on anxiety therapy.

Anxiety:

Having a hard time getting out of bed? Feeling a lack of motivation? Not wanting to do things you used to enjoy? Overwhelmed all the time?  These are all signs of depression. Telehealth can be a great option for depression, in that I get to meet you where you are at, both physically and mentally. If you are feeling depressed, there is no need to get dressed. Instead, turn on your computer, and we can begin your session. To learn more about depression, check out my page on depression therapy.

Depression:

Highly Sensitives:

You’re wired differently. You are more aware of the world and how people’s actions impact vulnerable people, and it bothers you. You notice little changes in your environment, cry easily, and tend to get irritable. This can happen if you are uncomfortable due to hunger, tiredness, or stress. People always say you are too sensitive. Well, maybe you are a highly sensitive person. We are wired differently. It’s not mental health disorder. But, because 20% of the population is wired this way, being highly sensitive in a non-sensitive world can lead to anxiety or depression. Telehealth sessions can help you learn healthy ways to manage your sensitive nature and live your best life. Learn more about being a highly sensitive person here.

Counselors need therapy too. We deal with a LOT. The reality is the secondary trauma from hearing other people’s stories can take its toll after a while. You know you want therapy, but it is so hard finding someone that has done their work so that they can help you. Add in the fact that you don’t want to run into your therapist at networking meetings or training. Or, have to share a client with your therapist, run into them at your kid’s events, your local grocery store. In short, it can be really hard to find a GREAT therapist. This is where online counseling is a great option for other therapists. You can get the help you need AND choose a therapist that is far enough away that they are not going to be in your immediate professional or personal circles. This way, you can squeeze your therapy in between clients. SAY WHAT?!? This is a win-win.

Therapy for Therapists:

Is Online Therapy Effective?

Yes…the great thing about online therapy, it that not only can it be done from anyplace that you are comfortable with.

In fact, many of my clients feel like it is a more balanced and insightful way for me to see their lives because they can show me their day-to-day surroundings. Don’t believe me? Check this out…

According to Science Daily, a May 2016 study done by the University of Pittsburgh Health and Sciences, online counseling is just as effective if not more so in the treatment of anxiety and depression than face-to-face sessions.

I am not sure if I will like virtual therapy…

I get it. When I first started DOING virtual therapy, I was not sure about it myself. Here is what a lot of my clients say:

  • I sometimes forget we are online!

  • Wow, this is so convenient!

  • You know, I can show you things instead of just explaining them, and then points camera.

I know therapy is a serious commitment. If you are not sure about virtual therapy, I get it. If you have 20 minutes, why not try a free consultation?
